Electrical Design Disclaimer
WireMyPanel helps you plan and document electrical panels. It is not a substitute for a qualified electrical professional, and nothing it produces makes an installation safe or compliant on its own.
A design and planning tool
WireMyPanel records what you design: equipment, terminals, wires, circuits and loads. Its checks report specific facts it can establish from that data — for example that a conductor is larger than a terminal is documented to accept. It does not inspect the physical installation and cannot know anything you haven't entered.
Recommendations are preliminary
Breaker, cable and protection suggestions, load estimates, voltage-drop figures and assistant answers are preliminary. They depend on the values you enter, on typical or estimated figures where you didn't enter one, and on stated assumptions (such as the supply voltage, no diversity, and a resistive voltage-drop estimate). Where information is missing, results can be incomplete or wrong.
What calculations cannot establish
Safety depends on parameters WireMyPanel does not assess or may not have, including: earthing arrangement and earth-fault loop impedance, prospective short-circuit current, installation method, ambient temperature and grouping, cable current-carrying capacity, selectivity and discrimination, residual-current protection requirements, surge protection, and the condition of existing equipment and site conditions.
You must verify the design
- Check every design against the electrical standards and regulations that apply where it will be installed.
- Check it against the manufacturers' current specifications and installation instructions for every product used.
- Have the design reviewed, installed, tested and certified by a suitably qualified and, where required, licensed person.
- Obtain any notifications, permits, inspections or approvals required by your local authority, network operator or insurer.
No certification
WireMyPanel and its operator do not certify, approve or sign off drawings, designs or installations. A WireMyPanel document, passport or label is not a certificate of compliance, and must not be presented as one.
Your responsibility
You remain responsible for your design and for obtaining appropriate professional review and approvals before any work. Electrical work can cause fire, injury and death; if you are unsure, stop and consult a qualified electrician.
